How to treat hives?

Experienced a sudden outbreak of swollen and pale red bumps on your skin which doctors call hives? Probably you may not have experienced it but surely seen one of those occurring on someone’s skin. Well, it is generally caused due to presence of allergens in your food or atmosphere. The cause in most cases is not always known but, the occurrence can be painful. There are various ways to treat these hives. Here are a few ways that you can easily apply to treat hives.

Herbal Teas

Green teas consist of a lot of antihistamine properties which make it perfect for treating hives. You can consume a lot of herbal teas which will help treat hives. You can either buy tea bags or brew your own tea with some herbs. In case you are planning to have flower herbs brew them for 10 mins while for the root herbs, you need to brew your tea for 20 mins.

Paper Towel Treatment

You can wet a paper towel in cold water and apply it on the infected area. Keep it on for about 15 mins. You should keep reapplying this cold paper towel on the infected area at regular intervals. If the infection is a bit too much, you should consider entering a bath tub of cold water and immersing yourself in it for about 20 mins or so.

Aloe Vera Treatment

Aloe Vera works well for any kind of skin problems. Apply aloe vera along the infected area and help heal your skin faster. When you apply along the uninfected area, you will be able protect it from getting infected.

Oatmeal Treatment

Soak the infected part in warm oatmeal mix. If the hives cover your lower part of the body especially the legs, soaking in a warm oatmeal mix is a good way treat it.

Ginger Treatment

It can be used while making food, can be used in pills and can also be used in your steam treatments. Daub fresh cut ginger with the skin removed on your infected allergic skin. For a cooling effect place the ginger in the refrigerator.
